I have a technique that I use (and LOVE) that I call Picture Painting. It's a process where I take a photo and, using some unique software, turn it into a painting....of whatever type I want, such as an oil painting, a watercolor painting, anything. I've used this technique for some of my Gallery Shows and also for Weddings and Family Portraits. But it's my "fine art" work that I think gains the most from Picture Painting.
I just got back from a 10-day vacation in Florida....yes, I DID take the Harley to South Beach and the Keys again!! As I've done for several of the past Winters'. But while I was in South Beach I stayed in what was actually a Hotel and Hostel....very interesting time. I made a picture of it that I'll show below.........
I have a particular style of painting that I like to do......and I did this style to the shot of my Hotel in South Beach (The Clay Hotel) and I've put it below:
As I said, there are many uses for this image style and I'd be happy to talk with you about an image like this for you as well.
I recently had another model shoot, but this time in my South Philly studio.......alias my shared space with Mariano of 5th Stone Studios (www.fifthstonestudios.com) on South 18th Street.......with Beth and Charlene. Charlene works for Laraine at Main Line Models, a great Agency that I've been shooting for for a few years now. We did a couple of basic set-ups, with a white and then a black backdrop. But, even with these simple settings, we got some great shots. Take a look at this Video........
I had a very interesting photo shoot for my dear old friend Laraine at Main Line Models. They have an annual "Expo" where they bring in the top Booking Agents from Philadelphia (such as Mike Lemon) to talk with their people about the "state of the business" here in Philly. Then in the afternoon, we do a modeling seminar and photo shoot. .........97 models were shot in a 3-4 hour afternoon!! Talk about being tired. But here's a little slideshow of samples from the shoot. If you go to my "View Images" button at the top of the page, then click on "To View Weddings Click Here" (I haven't changed it to "Events" yet) and scroll down to the Main Line Expo shoot, you can see more of the work from the day.
Here's a sampling of images from a model shoot that I did recently. I shoot models for an Agency, Mainline Models and Talent in Media, PA. Here's their link:
Saturdays' wedding for Katie and Jeff was not adversely impacted by the rain at all!! It was a fun event and one that was enjoyed by all....especially Katie and Jeff. I think you'll be able to see that from the images of the day that I've put together into a little slideshow below.
Here is another of our Montage DVD's......again, a combination of your wedding album pages and other images of the day, set to music of your choice.
Enjoy.
Welcome to my Blog and thanks for stopping by. The purpose of this Blog is to provide you with examples of my work on an ongoing basis......and to hear from you. I will be putting my wedding images on here, along with other work that I'll be doing: model or band shoots, commercial work and most importantly my ongoing photoessays. Please take a minute to add a post if you have any comments on the work .....as well as any insights and critiques. I welcome any comment and I'll be checking them and responding to them as best as I can.
